RowdierReaders.com – Be the Transceiver – For collectors of Curiosa – KathleenKBooks.com

Rowdier readers self-identify so if you continue reading here there is a good chance you at least have the graciousness to entertain a new idea.  You have an open channel, not all channels of course, and not at your deep risk, but you will allow the foreign and the unknown to intrude to that first hurdle:  it’s an incoming thought and you have let it in, behind your eyes now, and for that moment you have a different outlook.  This collection of graphic writing joins books from many other creators, and all must be absorbed from the page for maximum impact.  Reach out as readers, reinforce the enrichment of scanning words into the brain.  Writers know you are treasures.

kathleen_k_erotica_fiction_books_typist

Fear of thinking, most specifically deep thinking, limits amateur readers who have not developed a framework for what they read so if something doesn’t fit in the few categories they do admit then the idea is discarded.  Volley over, signal drops, no presence.  Dead End.  What a dull world it would be if we were all like that.

Rowdier readers are energized by reading, they set up synapse symphonies and cogitate from the page to the world through the heart-mind.  It is not difficult to identify certain writings that simply are not suitable for some although the work is much appreciated by others.  That’s my category, sexotic-erotic-graphic language in small peppery bursts.  There is a transliteration when sexotic writing is considered tête-à-tête and it is my intent to be read head-to-head by people with busy vocabularies.  I station myself on broadcast and you agree to transceive.  You don’t have to accept everything but you entertain the ideas, give them a moment to take hold and move through.  Curiosa is like catnip to such a reader.

Like all arts, there is the idea but then there must be a manifestation:  a canvas, a carved stick, tangible and discrete as it is indexed for short term recall, the written word, a recorded speech, humming of a choir.  For me it has been making books, it is the making of them that pleases me.  In that way I am an old-school talent in an analog format for the print books, reluctantly digital for digital dissemination.  Books are a tactile medium in the end, nuance is absorbed through the eyes and hands.  I respect that.  It’s a journey for me too (there’s history I haven’t told you) so things are always surprisingly connected.  Overall, there are twelve narrative and engaging affordable volumes available online so far plus the fabrication continues.  I’ve developed the art of setting you up with sexotic scenarios but I break away in time for you to have to finish the imagery.  It’s subtle, it’s killer technique.  (Oh, how I’ve studied!)

I didn’t build this body by accident; I carved a man out of a blob of waste-infused goo. Locked beneath the sheath of fat was a pugnacious fucker who finally took control. I hired Honey as a sex trainer, like I paid my cardio coach and my tennis instructor. She was soft and limber and ready to rock, frank and assessing as needed. Part coach, part sparring partner… bringing me to peak. She re-shaped my sexuality, brought it closer to my core, made me hold it there and grow it there. My fat-man sex never thrilled so the screaming success of my normal body was the greatest reward. The confidence-fueled fucking went on long enough and strong enough to finally experience the need to howl it out. Now I can slip up between her thighs and feel the cradle of her crotch coddle my bouncing balls.

I’m all about the squiggles of thought, the ~, <>, : ∞ that put the punctuational kaboom into the language to help you syncopate it.  I know it seems like there are uneducated people clogging up the pipeline to – your bliss, your success, your redemption – but in fact your pace is your choice. The giddy liberty to think whatever you want is the ultimate freedom, the luxury of thoughts and feelings that come to a truly be-stilled being, soul awhirl.  Consider this an opportunity provided by the publisher of Words Arranged by Kathleen K. because it is one way for you to stomp around a bit out in the Idea Fields.  There has always been a flare of challenge in the presentation and the content of this adult-themed compendium that adds value if only reluctantly.  When is something dirty and good, good and dirty?  Who decides?  First, judge the covers… then slip away to KathleenKBooks.com for more detail.

Erotic-Sexotic Poetry Giveaway: ARCHING OVER

kathleen_k_erotica_maxximus_graphic_poetry_arching_over_collected_collectionsLove|Sex is timeless and recognizable…it has been my great pleasure to hone a poetic voice for that exchange of essence, yearning and exultant, with a dash of nasty-sass.

It is your own hand that brings you off
but it is my voice in your ear
as you crest, as you peak,
you at the vertex
with me in the vortex.

I’m offering ten free copies of ARCHING OVER  Collected Collections of Graphic Poetry through Goodreads.com.  The offer closes on December 15th, 2014.  If you aren’t a Goodreads member yet, consider joining this readers’ forum that offers author outreach.

We ignite our erotic memories:
did anyone ever do this to you? Here?
Like this, with the back of a hand?
No? Did they know not to twist
at the tip but at the base
of your thrumming summit?

And did they fold their fingers
into the pleat of your sex
like this? Indirect yet intense.

Show me what you showed them,
how you offered
what you offered.

Offer yourself to me.

The artwork for ARCHING OVER is provided by Maxximus who unified the four separate collections of my sexotic poetry in a work we called Cubed Lips:

might i mention that
you never say certain words
as if they stop in your throat
as if they reverberate in your head
unable to escape
even when you are excited
even when you are begging
even then you are circumspect, cautious
you say you want to be inside me
(not fuck, not ball, not screw…
not even push, bang, bury)
you can’t say what i want to hear
even though you do everything i want you to do

Contact me if you know who to give credit for this…

you have denied yourself every temptation
in your mortal fear of sin
you haven’t dared to dance
haven’t thrilled with flirtation
deny even your dreams
because your desire is an untrained dog
you have tricked into a closet
and woe the day the bastard slips out

It’s never just me writing the poems.
It’s never just you reading them.

I draw a cat; Mandot draws a bird and a… human

I drew a picture of a cat to illustrate a point.  I can’t draw, I can suggest:

kathleenk_erotica_fiction_blog_mandot

Barry “Mandot” Messer drew a bird.  Mandot can not only draw, he can illuminate:

kathleenk_erotica_fiction_books_mandot

Mandot drew a… human.  [For me,] it is as much about what isn’t as what is:

kathleenk_erotica_fiction_books_Mandot_bird_magic

Barry a/k/a Mandot provided the art for Stoner’s Bone of Contention (The Weightless Joint) but our collaboration reaches back to 1984 when he first illustrated an erotic poetry book of mine titled “I Feel as I Am Felt” now included in ARCHING OVER:  Collected collections of graphic poetry.

Enjoy the idea that artists walk among us, as do dancers and drummers and all the rest.  Enjoy that.  Buy a book, sit for a sketch, toss a couple of bucks to a singer at the market.  Then pop that thought onto your home page, into your Twitter because the only cure for negativity is positivity.

COMMENTARY by indie author-publisher Kathleen K.

There is necessary discussion of gender dynamics on the Internet since the imbalance is amplified due to volume (ha ha)… too much information is tilted toward the lower order of male thinking.  It has ever been so.  Pornography drives innovations in publishing.  Which doesn’t mean it has to stay that way.  There is finally a gender-neutral digital global platform available to rectify the untoward emphasis on the man-ram-jam mentality.

Not only is self-sourced web info skewed along traditional male-power lines, but the corporate entities have only slowly gotten the message about female online presence:  Women are consumers and they scare sponsors.  That’s what puts the bite in the outcry against, just by way of example, the NFL’s complicity in the culture’s tolerance of violence toward women and children.  We did make it illegal, now we have to make it unacceptable (you know, like the ongoing shift in attitude about drunk driving).

For so long it was easy to figure how to portray women sexually:  Porn was for men because men had the money.

Time for some new math.  Women may have been “given the vote”, but we’ve taken over education; we represent a shifting definition of success with an impact on local and global economies.  In that world of accomplishment and challenge, we do share our passionate fantasies.  People like me even make a business of sex-positivity by keeping it is as far away from glory-hole antics as can be.

Many people want their erotica intelligent and inventive, showcasing the power and the glory of union rather than the hydraulic actions of a self-satisfying man using any old cum-dumpster.  Atmosphere counts when women express sexuality, it may be more suggestive yet the goal remains to stir overt response in both genders.

I write for rowdier readers of all persuasions because they self-identify as open-minded.  It’s a fun crowd.

A Musing on the Emotional Commotion of Sex

Commentary by indie author-publisher Kathleen K.

The distinction between sexotic and erotic comes down to emotional commotion.  Sexotica is informative, brisk, with details of physique and technique.  Erotica is moody and rich, with a contagious sense of excitement.  They each call sex to mind but sexotica is about others and erotica is about you.

It's all about perspective.

It’s all about perspective.

Vignettes are scenes, moments, impressions.  I use vignettes to translate the passionate uproar of sex into entrancing bits and pieces.  Naughty talk makes for lively wordplay, allowing the reader to pick and choose at the smorgasbord of subjective objectives instead of binding themselves to a small set of characters with a limited range of behavior and way too much detail (Fifty Shades of Grey).  I widen the romantic-erotic-graphic horizon by providing narrators who have access to a steady stream of titillating stimuli:  a retired escort turned erotic advisor, a sociable sex-clubber,  a pay-to-say girl (my only non-fiction book).  By cultivating this freewheeling, easy breezy style, I liberate the reader from keeping track of distractions like plot.  There are no clues, you don’t need a family tree or a corporate org chart to discern motive and opportunity.

Fan reaction stresses how smart and smooth the books are.  Women like the lush language, drinking in the expressive power of finely tuned words on the splendor of connection.  Men like the kinky situations, quick jabs of distilled intent.  People praise the mix of frank sexuality and sly innuendo working like a kaleidoscope to tumble images that fragment and re-assemble in patterns.  I walk the thin line between just enough and a little too much.  Like all wayward pleasures, dosage is an issue.  I let you skip around, slide past parts that don’t interest you (at the moment), leaving you to re-read the hot spots if that’s what you like.

Not all the books are the same.  The Stoner series is about weed and free love while The Lunarium was Named to Kirkus Reviews’ Best of 2013 because of its use of imagination and enthusiasm structured in sixty-nine segments related to voyeurism.  Tagged as “one man’s memories of the watchers and the watched”, The Lunarium isn’t about creepy peeping, it is a look at the hidden side of exhibitionism.

ARCHING OVER collects four small books of graphic poetry offering “a cavalcade of love affairs” that drop the exposition to encapsulate energy in well-arranged words, leaving room to read between and beyond the lines.  I’ve clipped some samples showing that even mild language can capture yearning.

National Poetry Month – Don’t deny yourself the clarity of poetry

Don’t deny yourself the clarity, power and beauty of poetry based on an ugly introduction to it in school (you probably didn’t appreciate asparagus back then either).  Poetry is the essence of communication, even when heavily symbolic.

Poetry can speak in headlines, or let rhythm determine content (haiku), it is in our songs, in our pledges.  Poetry flashes meaning at you, it summarizes or deconstructs (or both).  There are many forms of poetry, go ahead and peek into a few books.  If you don’t find something you like in a couple of pages, or by skipping around, that book is not talking to you.  And that’s OK.  Try again.

I earlier argued the point that Tweet-sized thinking is poetry:  Few Words, Much Feeling.  This is not intended to diminish the craft and word-work of our collective lyric soul.  Once you sample a few poets, close your eyes and grab for the after-glow of your favorite.  Somebody arranges words in a way that appeals to your thought-constructs.

ARCHING OVER (Collected Collections) is graphic.  Whether it is erotic is up to you.  This collection revels in reduction:  getting to the base/bone/blood of sexual connection.  Yearning.  Triumphant.  Exultant.  It is not without love.  “Look Inside” link for Kindle sample.

Calling Covert Cupids – Erotica – Valentine’s Day Gift Idea

Sassy, sexy, informative, witty and wry:  Bedside Readers by Kathleen K. Books

There’s plenty of time to order up a Valentine’s surprise.  Consider these, please, and don’t forget to invest in yourself.  Priced to share, the printed books are $6.66-9.99 and Kindle $4.99-6.66.

The graphic poetry of ARCHING OVER is provocative, yearning and exultant… couples could read favorite parts alone, back and forth, or together, silently or out loud.  Singletons, treat yourself to a sweet retreat with wayward words to remind and inspire you.  Be pervicacious about your joy, you deserve it.  There is a difference between celibate and dormant.

Consider vignettes of voyeurism in The Lunarium, named to Kirkus Reviews’ Best of 2013, as a treasure trove of stirring sexual details.  Things you didn’t know, things you forgot you knew; intelligent and inventive, constructed for the sophisticated consumer of high-end erotica without mucking it up for the straightforward love-the-naughty readers.

For the rowdiest readers, Sweet Talkers (Words from the Mouth of a Pay-to-Say Girl) is raw and immediate, a nonfiction chronicle of a phone sex business including call diaries, training bulletins, re-created calls and Top Ten Fantasies.  Now in its 3rd edition as an on-line collectible, it marks the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary of the business that inspired it.

If you like sex, and you like weed, you might like Stoner.  Or you might not, and that’s cool too.  Balance the legalize-weed political agenda with a high spirited sexotic fictional memoir.  It’s an oddly thoughtful look at reefer and romance from a man cloaked by his ordinary day job and unremarkable appearance.  He’s the guy you want to come to your party, he’s your cousin in Ohio, your son-in-law, you.  Women trust him because his lovemaking is not a trick, it is a knowing.

Honey B., Sexual Consultant is the second in a quintet of books from a retired call girl turned erotic advisor.  Frisky and brisk, in a cavalcade of intermingle-for-hire encounters, she shows that you can’t get what you want until you know what you want.  Kirkus Reviews called it “novelized… hard-core erotica”.

So, Covert Cupid, why not take this step toward sensual scenarios and explicit descriptions of the watchers and the watched?  If you are a typical modern American, your sex receptors are exhausted by unrelenting video stimulation and audio intimations of sex.  Overt and subliminal ping-ping-pings hit us high and low, a hint here, a grunt there, much of it thoughtlessly absorbed so that we aren’t enchanted by a hint of cleavage anymore.  A simple trip to the grocery exposes you to magazine covers that leave nothing to the imagination no matter your mood, the exaggerated breasts and bums are there in your face.   It dulls you.

Dismiss the streams of “content” that blare their message:  get off the roller coaster and follow me to ride the teacups.  You know what I mean – slow down, snuggle in, and prepare to shift your weight around in response to the same forces as the coaster but without the screaming.  Reading is intensely personal, a deliberate pursuit of information presented letter by letter… no splashing or flashing… the barest elements of emphasis are available yet epic tales are told.  It’s evocative to give over to those tingles of memory and desire stirred by lush language.

Sex-specific detail is always tricky, how little or much c/w/should you say if for some reason you had an actual opportunity to talk about your love life?  If I asked you to submit anonymously a 100- or 1000- word statement about what you do in bed and who you’re doing it with, what would you say?  How different would it be if the statement had your name on it?

Help yourself remember and imagine passion and confluence; conjure the sweet slick sense of entry to a hard-wired carnival of physical response and emotional reaction.  Open the book, close off the world, think about sex.  Take a slow-roasted approach to your passion and call forth a similar appreciation in your partner.

Take your time when sharing your excitement, be considerate; since sex always ends the same way, the variation in the experience must come at the beginning.

The Art of Tweet-sized Poetry: Few Words, Much Feeling

The Art of Tweet-sized Poetry: Few Words, Much Feeling

Marianne Moore was never so confounding as when she dabbled in simplicity. In The Complete Poems of Marianne Moore, published in 1967, the 80-year-old poet had ruthlessly pared down “Poetry” from 29 lines to three:

I, too, dislike it.

Reading it, however, with a perfect contempt for it, one discovers in

it, after all, a place for the genuine.

Quoted from Slate.com by Jennifer Szalai

COMMENTARY by Kathleen K., indie author and publisher

Poetry has been taken out of the hands of most readers, sadly denying them the fun of discovering writers who are wringing out the distractions and conveying the message.  Erotica poetry has the double-burden of being naughty and nerdy.  Don’t flip it off so fast, it might fertilize your fantasies.

Arching Over (Collected Collections of Graphic Poetry) assembles four small books of erotica poetry into a compendium of oddly thoughtful words about love∞sex.  The book has been professionally assessed by Kirkus Reviews:

[This] collection of erotic poetry offers a cavalcade of love affairs, focusing on the narrator’s moment-to-moment fantasies and experiences.

A sprawling collection… that intriguingly lays out a dance of seduction in all of its conceivable steps.

The Erotic Engine – What Drove Me Today

The Erotic Engine: How pornography has powered mass communication, from Gutenberg to Google

by Patchen Barss

The title says it all.  Two hundred ninety-two pages of well-written history, linking Stanhope peepers to VHS amateur porn, carnal antiquities to mobile sex apps.  He tracks the facts of money, mood and media, charting public acceptance and demand.  He’s mindful of socio-tech movements and accurately lands on the pulse of our underground sexual delivery systems.  Good storyteller, lots of first-person observations from thoughtful experts.

COMMENTARY by indie-publisher of sexotic books for rowdier readers – Kathleen K.

How do I find books like this?  Like this:  be at the library when the doors click open on Saturday morning and beeline to the new books.  A mixture of fiction, fantasy, nonfiction books are lined up for inspection.  I grab six, semi-sort of randomly, it’s much about the cover and the title, a quick flip to the summary.  Yes or no.  Then I move to the Staff Picks which is another collector-distributor point for odd-lot selections.  These are proffered by staff readers as topical enthusiasts so you might see romance and fishing guides and soul music.  Today, The Erotic Engine.

The book was published in 2010; I would add my own note about publish-on-demand options in media now.  Through a vendor like CreateSpace.com, an author like me can produce book masters at a reasonable price and offer them for sale on the biggest marketplace ever:  Amazon.com.  For about $850, you, too, could publish a 250-page book that would become available to anybody at any time they demanded it.  (Co-creators, $425; 4-some $212.50).  I stockpiled ten sets of masters (print and Kindle).  Besides being fun, it is an investment in future inventory.  Best of all, it supplies me with the many personal copies I distribute to fans and sell, in spurts (!), online.  Available for review: KathleenKBooks.com

I am insinuating myself into the conversation about erotica, counterculture literacy, and gender dynamics.  I’m on the look-out for rowdier readers.  Sassy, intelligent, witty, explicit erotica is not for everybody.  If it just so happens you, yourself, have a curious disposition then please connect here.

The newest book, ARCHING OVER Collected Collections of Graphic Poetry is romantic and erotic, uncluttered and direct, fertile with images.  The voice in these poems is speaking to you, overtly… you are being called out, slither hither.  “You at the vertex, with me in the vortex.”  It is a four-stage journey:  distinctly voiced, annotating moments when “modifiers lose meaning, it gobbles it, there are no other words.”

no youngster ever fucked like that

… it took ten years of bad sex

and disappointment

to stoke the fires

to blast past mistakes and earn learning

the mature and thorough sex

of one who has hungered

* * * * *

dog-style and howling

that’s how we do it

so you can really see

and i can really feel it

you bark commands:  move!  don’t!  move!

and i wag my tail

* * * * *

my back seems balanced

on the tip of your prick

the twin-curved ass

a surrounding

your hands bridge me

hauling my hips back

so we clang

* * * * *

thick stick

lush tush

bit tit

come some

* * * * *

i fuck myself

with a pliable substitute

it’s a matter of balance

not hard enough to hurt

not fast enough to burn

but almost, almost

* * * * *

a glow

so hot it boils marrow

eyes steamed blind

and ears melted

i’m shrieking

but my mouth is sealed shut

stunning sex

glory

* * * * *

your cock is putty

in my hands

i like it

soft and pliable

lo, the stages

from palmful

to mouthful

fulfilling

filling full

* * * * *

our eyes are closed

but what are we seeing?

to you, am i a pair of fluted lips,

swollen, slick and seeking?

like you, to me, are a probe

with a heated tip

searing your name inside

* * * * * *

i find myself

scattered

all over the bed

toes over the edge

fingers dug into the pillows

my legs so far apart

i feel my trunk unlatch

* * * * *

my pleasure drips from your chin

when you look up at me

but the crown of your head

is all i see

when your face is what i feel

* * * * *

thick bodied

wide smiled

hot cocked

man

* * * * *

you loom

then weave

… the fabric of love

made between us

* * * * *

nipples like littlest dicks

full to bursting, up, out, insistent
